Gorgeous packaging!!

After years of hearing about how good the Too Cool for School contour powder was on youtube and other blogs, I finally decided to give the powder a go when I went to Korea this year. From what I’ve heard I was expecting a very cool toned tri-colored selection for contouring, that contained no shimmer, and created natural shadows and shapes.

I can safely conclude that all the information I have gathered on this contour product is correct.

First of all, with my sensitive skin I’m often afraid of products that may cause me to break out, but this powder surprisingly does not.

I give it a ✿✿✿✿✿

Color: There is a selection of three colors in this contour pact. A lighter neutral contour, a medium cool toned shade, and a darker slightly redder pigment. A great selection that creates multiple shades when mixed to the user's preference and fits most skin tones from light to medium. Sadly, the product does seem to be a little too light to use as contour for darker skin tones.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation on the rodin contour may seem slightly off to some people, but the reason for that is because it was formulated to be very buildable while still allowing users some leeway in making mistakes. When you first apply the powder selection it may be hard to see a dramatic difference, HOWEVER after buffing the product into my cheekbones the powder created a super natural and effortless looking chisel. It’s pretty hard to accidentally go overboard with this product which is why it’s great for contouring beginners.

Texture: The powder is smooth and moderately soft, and may look chalky in a finger swatch but applies beautifully without patchiness when you use a brush.

Application: I recommend using either a dense angled flat top brush for this powder to create more pigmented and precise placement. OR, if you want a softer contour take a fluffier, but still dense, powder brush and just mix the shades you want and buff it in.

Tip: Don’t ever drop this pact as the contour powder is known to break VERY easily. Which I thought about taking half a rating off for but I just love this powder too much.

Made with LOVE

Packaging: The packaging on this pact is truly stunning. I absolutely LOVE the rustic, artsy fartsy look it has going on with the brown paper sticker on top of the pact, and when I took it out of the box the pact was nicely wrapped in tissue paper and had a sticker on it that said by Rodin. You can clearly see the love that Too Cool For School put into their products through the packaging that they choose, also a secret discovery when you open the box there’s a story on the inside of it that you can read before throwing it away. And to protect the nicely sized mirror in the pact they have thoughtfully provided a clear plastic separator that has ART CLASS printed on it.

Tip: if you want to keep the plastic protection sheet inside the pact but it really bothers you that it always falls out when you open the case then flip the case upside down before you open so that when you do, the mirror hold the plastic sheet perfectly while you use your product. Then just close the case and you’re good to go!

Final thoughts: Is this product worth purchasing? ABSOLUTELY, especially if you’re a beginner in makeup and contouring, not only does the product create the most natural shades but it also makes it very hard for people to over apply.

As a final tip: If you want to make sure that your contour stays on all day apply a cream contour stick first and set it with the powder contour.
